When I'm there, Mary pretends as if she doesn't allow Milo on the dining room table since, being not used to cats, I don't like the cat sniffing around the food... but here's the truth. Mary says:
It is a beautiful but t cold day of n DC and Milo has found his perfect spot on
the dining table.

Common behavior for my cats too - but I do also discourage it when guests are around.
I was thinking after I wrote this that Milo lives there, I don't, so maybe he should be allowed to do any darn thing he pleases.
He is not allowed on the table when there is food or company. Actually, he doesn't try to get up there as much as he did when he was younger.
Lying in that spot of sunlight can be irresistible, even when your hips are creaky.
