Ana came today and she bought me a Powerball ticket for Wednesday night. I gave her her usual pay and added two singles for the ticket. She refused it and said it was a gift. If I ever won, I would happily give her lots of money, but by buying my ticket, she has guaranteed it! She told me if she won she'd go back to the Dominican Republic and buy a house.
Not just Ana, but I am struck my the average plans people have if they win: quit work, pay off their bills, pay for their kids' college -- and it's hard to think beyond those everyday financial needs.
Saw my nurse-practitioner today and all is well.
