Send good healing thoughts Fran's way today as this is the day of her hip replacement surgery. Mary is with her -- Fran is in surgery right now.

2pm update: Mary spoke with the doctor and said everything went well... in fact, he actually used the word perfect! She's in recovery for a while, then Mary will go visit her and see how she is.

5:30 pm update: Mary saw Fran who is in her room. Said Fran was groggy and a bit nauseous but otherwise OK. Fran is spending two nights in the hospital.
